DUFFY, Charles D.

Aug. 14, 1930 - May 22, 2014

We are heartbroken to announce the sad, yet peaceful passing of Charlie after a lengthy struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Surrounded by family, Charlie passed quietly into the arms of the Lord at Leamington District Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of 62 years (May 31) to Jean Sutts. Loving father of Becky (John) D’Amore, Kathy, Susan, and Bradley (Sandy). Cherished Papa to Michael, Danny, Jordan, Chelsie, and Carlie. Dear brother-in-law to Mary Hulett and predeceased by Earl Sutts. Predeceased by his parents Irene Adams (1973) and Dudley (1984). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Charlie was retired from General Chemical. He had a passion for life, flowers, gardens, woodworking, and anyone who knows him has a funny story to tell. He was a man of many “hats”!

The family would like to thank everyone for their special prayers and thoughts. Special thanks to all of Dad’s caregivers, especially Tina, “the best in the west”, and his home nurses. Extra special thanks to the second floor nurses of LDMH who were so compassionate in preparing Dad for his final journey.

Come to celebrate Charlie’s life at James H. Sutton Funeral Home, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg (519-736-2134) on Saturday, May 24 from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, May 25 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8 p.m., and Monday, May 26 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. We will then travel in procession to St. John the Baptist Church for Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.

In kindness, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor or the Windsor-Essex Humane Society.

You may leave your condolences online at www.jhsuttonfuneral.ca
