Passed away peacefully on April 2, 2017 at the age of 76. Loving father of Kristine Herfst and Sherry McCauley. Loving grandfather of Courtney, Jessica and Ashley Herfst. He will also be missed by his dear friends Kent Wigle and Tom Delmore. John retired from Seagram’s (Diageo) after 30 years. Thank you for the amazing care from the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living especially Sarah, Yvonne, Ruth, Raymond, Caroline and Laura. Thank you to Dr. Liang, nurse Kelly and nurse Guy from Windsor Regional Hospital Metropolitan Campus. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m. at James H. Sutton Funeral Home (401 Sandwich St. S. 519-736-2134). The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Make A Wish Canada would be greatly appreciated.
