<div itemprop="description">VALENTE, Alessandrina (nee Rufo)<br>September 30, 1931 – August 13, 2016 <br>Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Hotel Dieu Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband Guiliano (2016) of 65 years. Loving mother to Lidia and Antonio Mosaico, Dorina and Rocco DeThomasis, Josephine and Giuseppe DiNardo, Claudio and his late wife Mary, and Anna Maria and Tony DiBartolomeo. Dear Nonna to 16 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She is now reunited with angels Christian, Enzo, Kurt, and Connor. Predeceased by her parents Attilio Rufo and Anna Maria De Santis and in-laws Giuseppina (Rossi) and Beneditto Valente. Predeceased by her brother Alberto Rufo (Pasqua Rosa), sister Luicia Marcantonio (Vincenzo), sister Victoria Zinetti (Giovanni), sister-in-law Maria Pacitti (Victorio), sister-in-law Gaetana Capaldi (Attilio), and brother-in-law Carmine Valente (Anina). Alessandrina will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Alessandrina was born in Civitella Alfedena, Aquila, Italy and moved to Picinisco, Frosinone. She later immigrated to Canada in May of 1960 to join her husband and make a better life for her family. She worked at Reflex and picked tomatoes in order to help support her family. Alessandrina enjoyed being outside in her garden and listening to her Italian music. For peace and serenity, she reflected by reading the Holy Bible. <br>Visiting at JAMES H. SUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg (519-736-2134) on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday August 17, 2016 from the funeral home at 10 a.m. going in procession to St. John the Baptist Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at the Amherstburg Mausoleum. In kindness, memorial donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. The family would like to thank all the nursing staff at Chateau Park Long Term Care, Riverside Dr. for their great care, compassion and never ending patience with mom for the last 5 years.
